Gamers,
With the upcoming release dates of the XBOX one series X on November 10th and the PlayStation 5 on November 12th, I'd like for you all to compare the two major consoles and identify which of the two you think provides the most educational games for kids and adults. Share the one game from each console that you find most educational. I am looking forward to discussing what you all find.
Charles,
ReplyDeleteIn looking at the available games for the X-box and PlayStation consoles I came across a website that has an educational package for the X-box it is called Educational Games for Kids the ages vary from 3 years of age all the way to over 11 years of age. It has games from riding a tricycle to jigsaw puzzles, knowledge of world geography of countries /states plus capital cities just to name a few. I think X-box hands down beats PlayStation with its variety of this educational package. Although I saw that PlayStation does have a lot of educational video games, they are not bundled one would have to buy them individually. The one video game I like from PlayStation was Little Big Planet basically it’s a game that if kids like creating stuff it plays like a side-scrolling game in 3D and it comes with missions and stages with the ability to design your own levels as well as customizing the characters, power-ups, vehicles, and decorations seems like a fun way to spark creativity in children. Thanks for sharing.

Pitt,
ReplyDeleteGreat question. My daughter, a college freshman, has a passion for music and playing the guitar. When got her first guitar for her 14th birthday, she fell in love with it, but struggled to understand the instrument in the way she wanted to. We got her lessons, but she did not like the structure and pace of them. After some exploring, we found an Xbox title called Rocksmith. Rocksmith is a learning tool that allows the user to plug their own guitar into the console and follow through a structured program of instruction for learning the guitar. The curriculum is accompanied by many famous guitarists, popular songs, challenges, and gameplay. Rocksmith helped her to enhance her guitar playing ability in a fun and dynamic way. After looking for its availability on the new platforms you mentioned, I found that this title will be, and always has been, available on both. Thanks for the question Pitt. Have a great day.

Pitt,
ReplyDeleteThe game that comes to mind for both platforms is roblox. This game is very educational because it provides alternatives thinking, creativity, basic mathematics and more. This would be the game that at first I was very apprehensive of its value. Then I asked my daughters what interested them in this and they explained to me how it really worked. It peeks children's interest into coding and how to build simple programs. This is great to allow creative learn.
When it comes to the gaming systems, I think both provide a great experience and have positive things to bring the to the table. I personally going with the Xbox because I love the graphics.
