Charles,
ReplyDeleteGame on!!!. I agree that we in the military need to adopt new ways to train our Soldiers and have them really engaged. I think with this newer generation online and interactive simulations are the way to go to enhance our readiness. I am not a gamer per-say but as a leader we need to incorporate new methods to train and have our Soldiers ready.
Charles,
ReplyDeleteAwesome blog. While many situations just cant be replicated in a video game, that list grows shorter each day thanks to tech advancements. I was at a recent bomb squad convention and the simulators they had were unbelievable. From bomb disposal robotic platforms to explosive search games. They even had a simulator that rigged the player up to a ankle band that would deliver a small shock if you cut the wrong wire due to poor tracing and electronics knowledge, advanced stuff. Since most of the platforms are proprietary, you cant find many of the simulators online, but there are a ton of videos out there. I think that online gaming not only presents a myriad of opportunities for educational platforms, but it also is a good way to expose people to different career paths, which may lead them down a path to educational studies focused on it. Looking forward to you future posts!
